Golf: Cyna, Mia, Jayvie, Dottie enter third round of stoke play in North & South Amateur Championship
Cyna Rodriguez, Mia Piccio, Jayvie Agojo and Dottie Ardina of the ICTSI-PH squad have made it to the top 60 after the second round and are headed to the all-important third round of stroke play in the 110th North & South Amateur Championship at the Pinehurst No. 8 course in North Carolina. Rodriguez, well-adjusted to the long 6,560-yard layout and super slow greens, came through with an even par 72 to wind up with a 150, good for a share of 29th place with University of Florida sophomore Piccio, who improved to a 74 after a 76 in the opener. Pacing the stroke play so far is Jaye Green (71) and Nora Lucas (69) with identical 140's. They were followed by Lori Adams (70-141) and Thailand’s Moriya Jatunagran (72-142). Ardina, the former Queen Sirikit champion, played better with a two-over 74 to hold a 152 total. She was tied for 41st with Hong Kong Am titlist Jayvie Agojo, who carded a second 76. The four Filipinas were among the top 60 players in 36 holes. They must land in the final 16 after 54 holes to be able to reach the match play phase. Sarah Ababa (76-158) and Lovelyn Guioguio (86-163), also of ICTSI-PH, failed to advance. - AMD, GMA News
