Golf: Jed Dy notches three titles in California as Filpino bets impress
Jed Dy went three-for-three in his California campaign after his latest conquest in the Veritas World Jungolf Championships at the Pacific Palms in Los Angeles, claiming the crown in the 8-year-old age group. Earlier, he was the champion also at the San Diego Junior Masters and Callaway Junior World. Annyka Chanel Pineda, Harmie Constantino, Abby Arevalo and Chanelle Avaricio all topped their respective age brackets as Philippine bets scooped up the most titles in the tourney marking its debut in the summer series for juniors in the US. Avaricio won in the 15-year-old age group trophy, Arevalo captured the 13-year-old plum, Constantino topped the 11-year-old bracket and Pineda took the 8-year-old category. Completing the impressive PHL showing was third place windup of Jama Reyes in the boys 17-year-old class, Sam Martirez in the 14-year-old girls, Lester Lagman's fourth place showing in the boys’ 12 year-old and Jolo Magcalayo was sixth in the 8-year-old class. Meanwhile, the next leg of the ICTSI-JGFP School Season Series conducted by The Junior Golfers League resumes this week at the Ayala Greenfields Golf and Leisure Club. - AMD, GMA News
