Banario is PHL's first ONE FC mixed martial arts featherweight champion

Filipino mixed martial arts (MMA) warrior Honorio Banario seized the ONE Fighting Championship featherweight title Saturday evening in Malaysia via a technical knockout victory over his compatriot-foe Eric Kelly.

“The two Filipino warriors went back and forth in a striking duel,” ONE FC said in an article post on its website.

 

“The finish came in the fourth round as Banario won the striking battle with a punch that staggered Kelly,” the report also said.

 

ONE FC claims it is Asia's largest MMA organization. It staged its “Return of Warriors” tournament at the Stadium Putra before what it said was a “sold-out crowd.” The MMA group is based in Singapore.  — ELR, GMA News
