Golf: Pueblo de Oro leaps ahead after one round at PAL Interclub


Pueblo de Oro assembled 153 points to zoom ahead in the championship division over perennial rivals Luisita and defending champion Canlubang after the first round of the seniors Philippine Airlines Interclub in Cebu City.      Clifford Celdran paced the Pueblo squad with 55, a one-under-par 71 in regular play.  He was backstopped by the 52 of Victor Yuvallos and 46 of Ed Yap in the four-to-play, three-to-count format at the Alta Vista course.      Luisita, the winningest team in the seniors Interclub which began in 1989, got a total of 147 built around the 54 from Philippine Sports Commission's Richie Garcia, 47 of Francis Gaston and 46 of Seve Roxas-Chua.      Canlubang, which rallied to beat Luisita last year, was led by Mari Hechanova's 50, Rolly Viray's 49 and Rene Unson's 46.  Bing Bunye's 42 did not count.      In the Founders Division, Manila Golf opened its back-to-back crown bid with a leading 146.  Bryan Cockrell scored 52 and Fausto Preysler made 49. The 46 of either Arsenic Lascon or Severo Jose Tuason also counted.      Red Hawk from Los Angeles drew 50 from Robert Welsh, 49 from David Capistrano and 46 from Jimmy Velasco for 145.  Host Alta Vista was on third place with 142. - AMD, GMA News
