Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski elected as IOC member
On the final day of the 125th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, nine new members were elected including Mikaela Maria Antonia Cojuangco-Jaworski of the Philippines.

Cojuangco-Jaworski has represented the Philippines in horse riding. The highlight of her career came in the closing day of the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea where she won a gold medal in show riding. It was the third gold medal for the Philippines and that honor allowed Cojuangco-Jaworski to be the flag-bearer for the Philippines in the 2010 Asian Games even if she didn't compete in the games.
With the new additions, the Session – the supreme decision-making body of the IOC - now comprises 112 members who are individuals, active athletes, or representatives of International Federations (IFs) and National Olympic Committees (NOCs).
As a new members, Cojuangco-Jaworski and the eight others elected that day were not allowed to join the voting for the new IOC President where Germany's Thomas Bach was elected to an eight-year term. - CLP, GMA News
