V-League: Army repeats over PNP in quarters

The Philippine Army got a repeat win over the Philippine National Police, though the margin of victory was somewhat smaller, 25-13 25-23 25-22, on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena, in the quarterfinals stage of the Shakey's V-League 10th Season Open Conference.
The top six teams from the elimination round carried over their record against their respective foes to the quarterfinals phase, thus, Army improved to 5-1, while PNP slumped to 0-6.
The first time these two teams met, it was a 25-14 25-15 25-15 rout in favor of the Army.
In this game, Rachel Anne Daquis and Mary Jean Balse teamed up to lead Army with 15 points apiece, plus a combined 23 spikes. Daquis also added three points off blocks, while Jovelyn Gonzaga added 11 markers, three via service aces.
Janine Marciano led PNP with 12 markers, while Frances Molina and guest player Sangmuang Patcharee scored 10 apiece. - AMD, GMA News
