MMA: Ana Julaton set to face Egyptian kickboxing champ in ONE FC debut

Ana Julaton’s opponent for her mixed martial arts debut was revealed Tuesday in a press release. The Filipino former WBO super bantamweight champ will battle Egyptian kickboxing champ Aya Saeid Saber in May’s ONE FC: Rise of Heroes.

ONE FC CEO Victor Cui said in the statement, “Filipino fight fans have been clamoring to see Ana Julaton in action for years and their wait is finally over as Julaton will make her mixed martial arts debut opposite kickboxing champion Aya Saeid Saber.”

Julaton, in a previous interview with Yahoo Sports, revealed that she actually has a background in martial arts, as well as a long interest in the UFC. “I have been around all of the fighting arts for most of my life and this was something that just clicked for me,” she said.

In the statement, Saber added, “I am excited and honored to be the first female mixed martial artist from Egypt to compete in ONE FC. I can’t wait to get into the cage and beat Ana and make my fight team and family proud. Unlike Ana, I am not new to MMA. Be careful Ana, you are entering my world. I’m coming!”

ONE FC: Rise of Heroes, is set for May 2 at the SM MOA Arena.  - AMD, GMA News
