Former champions to headline first UFC event in Manila


Ultimate Fighting Championship has officially announced its fight card for its first Philippine event on May 16 at Mall of Asia Arena.
 
In the main event, former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar (17-4-1) will take on former WEC featherweight champion Urijah Faber (32-7) in a five-round contest at 145 pounds.
 
Filipino flyweight Roldan Sangcha-an (4-1) of Baguio's Lakay MMA is slated to face Ron de los Reyes (7-4) on the undercard.
 
Sangcha-an, 24, suffered his first professional defeat in the hands of Richie Vaculik in his UFC debut last year.
 
Also on the undercard is Jon Tuck (8-2), conqueror of Filipino MMA star Eduard Folayang penciled to fight Tae Hyun Bang (17-8) of South Korea. —JST, GMA News
