Frankie Edgar, Urijah Faber make weight for UFC Manila

The stage is set for the first Ultimate Fighting Championship event in the Philippines after the star-studded cast of the promotion successfully made weight Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.
Facing off in the much anticipated main event are two former champions Frankie Edgar (18-4-1) and Urijah Faber (32-7) who both tipped the scale at a ready 146 pounds.
On the undercard, Filipino-American middleweight Mark Muñoz (13-6) weighed-in at 186 pounds while his English opponent Luke Barnatt (8-2) came in at 185. Regardless of the outcome, Muñoz promised that it will be the last fight of his MMA career that started in 2007.
Another former mixed martial arts champion Gegard Mousasi (36-5-2) will strut his wares in front of the Filipino crowd as he takes on Costas Philippou (13-4) in a 3-round contest. Mousasi weighed 186 pounds while Philipppou tipped the scale at 185. -- JST, GMA News
