Chezka Centeno won the All-Filipina final of the women's 9-ball pool singles, besting compatriot Rubilen Amit 7-5 to claim the Philippines' ninth gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games on Tuesday.
Amit, who also bagged the silver medal in the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar, cruised past Indonesia's Fathrah Masum and Myanmar's Aye Mi Aung and easily made it to the finals.
Centeno, meanwhile, defeated Vietnam's Thi Ngoc Le Doan, Indonesia's Hui Ming Jessica Tan, and Thailand's Siraphat Chitchomnart in the pre-quarterfinals, quarters, and semifinals to set the stage for the Philippines' gold-silver finish.
Centeno is the second gold medalist for the Philippines in billiards and snooker, as Carlo Biado and Warren Kiamco ruled over the men's 9-pool doubles on Sunday.
Other medalists are Efren Reyes, Francisco Dela Cruz, and Michael Mengorio who bagged bronze medals in men's cushion carom and men's snooker singles, putting the country's billiard haul to six. - RAF, GMA News
