SEA Games: Dennis Orcollo rules men's 9-ball billiards

Billiards stalwart Dennis Orcollo added another gold to the Philippines' Southeast Asian Games medal haul after lording it over the men's 9-ball pool singles on Wednesday in Singapore.

 

Orcollo, who also bagged the gold in the 2013 SEA Games in Myanmar for the men's 10-ball pool singles, beat Myanmar's Maung Maung, 9-4.

 

"Medyo sinuwerte, kasi magaling yong kalaban," said Orcollo, who rallied from a 3-1 deficit early to beat Maung. “Medyo masama lang kamada noon umpisa.”

 

The medal is is Philippines' third gold in the discipline following Carlo Biado and Warren Kiamco win in the men's 9-ball pool doubles and Chezka Centeno victory in the women's 9-ball pool singles. —Marisse Panaligan/JST, GMA News
