Three Filipino MMA fighters added to ONE Championship card in Malaysia

Three notable Filipino mixed martial arts fighters are set to grace the ONE Championship cage in its upcoming event on October 9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Featherweight contender and one of the country's top homegrown MMA fighters Eric Kelly will finally return to action against Hiroshige Tanaka of Japan. The three-round contest will mark Kelly's first fight in 14 months since his impressive victory against Rob Lisita in July 2014.

Also on the undercard, flyweight prospect Eugene Toquero of Submission Sport Philippines will take on unorthodox Japanese fighter Riku Shibuya.

Former ONE Championship featherweight champion Honorio Banario of Baguio City's Team Lakay, meanwhile, is slated to face Malaysia's own Ev Ting. Banario is on a four-fight losing skid and is looking to get back into the win column.

In the main event, middleweight champion Igor Svirid will stake his ONE Championship title against Vitaly Bigdash. - RAF, GMA News
