Brandon Vera in best-ever shape for 'legacy fight' in Manila

Filipino-American mixed martial arts contender Brandon Vera feels he can't be more prepared than he already is ahead of his second apperance in ONE Championship on December 11 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
Vera, 38, is slated to vie for the inaugural ONE Championship heavyweight title against dangerous striker Chi Lewis-Parry of England.
For Vera, who will finally get the first title shot of his MMA career, the fight with Parry couldn't have come at a better place and time.
"I've never been in shape like this. I have never been this big, my body fat has never been this low, my cardio has never been this high - my confidence is through the roof," said Vera.
"I'm ready to fight. I'm ready to put that strap around my waist, I'm ready to win the fight come Friday night and become the inaugural ONE Championship heavyweight world champion."
Ever proud of his Filipino heritage, Vera sees his upcoming fight as a career defining moment thus he's looking to end the contest with a bang.
"This is a legacy fight for me. This would be a defining moment fighting here in the Philippines, fighting for the title, fighting for my family," said Vera.
"I would love to drag his big a** to the later rounds, have his mouth open and make him breath hard so he doesn't want to be there anymore. But if I do find the finish, we do have the opportunity to finish [then] I'm gonna finish it." —JST, GMA News
