Lesnar beats Hunt in MMA return

Former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar has been out of mixed martial arts competition for five years, but it didn't look like it after an impressive performance against Mark Hunt in the co-main event of UFC 200, Saturday night (Sunday in Manila) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Lesnar, 38, was calm and collected as he looked to score a takedown right from the opening bell. The former NCAA Division 1 wrestler eventually found himself in a mount position, raining strikes on Hunt in round one.

Hunt was able to stop Lesnar's takedown attempts in round two, but couldn't get the job done after Lesnar proved that he's capable of absorbing his power shots.

Lesnar was successful in taking the fight to the ground again in round three then relentlessly punched away at Hunt en route to a unanimous decision nod. All three judges scored the fight 29-27 for Lesnar.

The win improved Lesnar's record to 6-3 while Hunt dropped to 12-11. —ALG, GMA News
