DLSU hosts modified sports event for children with special needs


The De La Salle University in Manila marked the feast of the Santo Niño this year by hosting an event that showcase modified sports activities for children with special needs.

According to the report of Chino Trinidad aired over 24 Oras on Tuesday, this is the fourth straight year that La Salle hosted the special event for children with mental and physical challenges.

The children participate in the Olympics-style event with the assistance of personnel from the Center for Special Concern and Action (COSCA).

"Itong event na ito hino-hone ang children for socialization," said Kim Prudencio, a teacher-volunteer.

The theme for this year's celebration of Chidlren's day is FTK Atlantis: Dicovering Hidden Treasures with the aim to discover the hidden talents of the children with special needs.

Aside from modified sports activities that serve as the measure of the children's motor and mental skills but also their artistic talent.
