LOOK: SEA Games legends assemble
It's not every day that you see legends in one picture.
The Philippine Bowling Federation, Inc. on Thursday posted a photo of Filipino sports icons Akiko Thomson, Efren "Bata" Reyes, Paeng Nepomuceno, Bong Coo, Lydia de Vega, Onyok Velasco Jr. and Alvin Patrimonio in its Facebook account.
"GOAT gathering! Mabuhay ang Atletang Pilipino!" the caption read.
Thomson is a seven-time gold medalist in the biennial meet. She also participated in the 1988, 1992, 1996 Summer Olympic Games.
Reyes is a four-time World 8-ball champion, three-time US Open champion and one-time World 9-ball Tournament champion.
Reyes, who has 70 international titles, also won 14 times in the Derby City Classic.
Nepomuceno won the World Cup of Bowling four times in 1976, 1980, 1992 and 1996. He also won the World's Invitational Tournament in 1984 and the World Tenpin Masters championship in 1999.
Velasco is a 1994 Asian Games gold medalist. He also bagged silver in the 1996 Summer Olympics.
De Vega was considered as Asia's fastest woman in the 1980s. She won gold medals in the 1982 New Delhi Asiad and the 1986 Seoul Asiad.
She also won gold medals in the 1987, 1991 and 1993 editions of the SEA Games.
Coo is a four-time Ten-pin bowling World Champion and the first Filipino athlete listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
