Team PHL hauls 5 golds, 1 silver in Latin Dance


 

The Philippines reigned supreme in dancesport after hauling five gold medals and one silver in Latin Dance at the Southeast Games at the Royce Hotel in Clark, Pampanga Sunday.

The pair of Michael Angelo Marquez and Stephanie Sabalo dominated the Open latin category after tallying 164.10 for gold.

Marquez and Sabalo also ruled the single dance paso doble with a 32.40 output. The pair grabbed silver in the single dance jive category after scoring 32.65.

The Filipino tandem of Wilbert Aunzo and Pearl Marie Cañeda added another gold after tallying 32.45 in the single dance samba category.

Aunzo and Cañeda then dominated the single dance cha cha cha and single dance rumba categories after scoring 31.65 and 31.95, respectively.

Meanwhile, Filipina Debbie Mahinay settled for silver in the Breaking B-Girls category.

In the Standard category, the Philippines collected five gold medals and one silver, courtesy of the tandem of Sean Aranar and Ana Nualla and the pair of Mark Jayson Gayon and Mary Joy Renigen.
