The water polo teams of the Philippines both finished in the podium in the 30th Southeast Asian Games, giving the debut of the country's state-of-the-art aquatics center a fitting debut.

The men's tournament was historic, with Indonesia ending Singapore's 54-year reign in the sport. The Philippines scored the silver medal, relegating Singapore to the bronze.

The women's team, meanwhile, scored the automatic bronze after gallant stands against Thailand (gold) and Singapore (silver).
