Melcah Caballero nabs gold in rowing
Filipina rower Melcah Caballero bagged a gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games on Sunday at the Triboa Bay in Subic.
Caballero reigned supreme in the women's lightweight single sculls after clocking 7:50.89, while Thailand's Rojjana Raklao settled for silver after finishing 7:54.23.
Indonesian Mutiara Putri claimed bronze after a 7:56.85 output.
Meanwhile, the tandem of Edgar Ilas and Roque Abala Jr. notched bronze in the men's lightweight double sculls event.
This is the country's third gold medal in rowing after Chris Nievarez and the duo of Caballero and Joanie Delgaco copped gold medals on Saturday in the men's lightweight single sculls and women's lightweight double sculls categories, respectively.
