Filipino surfing hero Roger Casugay bagged a gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games surfing competition on Sunday in San Juan, La Union.
Casugay, who scored 14.50 points to rule the men's longboard open category, bested fellow Filipino Rogelio Esquievel Jr. with 14.20 points.
The gold medalist earlier made headlines for rescuing Arip Nurhidayat when the Indonesia broke his leash and got swept by the waves.
Casugay was also previously featured in "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho."
