Blancada adds another gold in surfing medal haul

Nilbie Blancada delivered surfing's second gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games on Sunday in San Juan, La Union.

She captured gold in the women's shortboard after defeating Thailand's Annissa Flynn.

Earlier, Roger Casugay ruled the men's longboard for surfing's first gold medal in the SEA Games. Rogelio Esquievel Jr. took the silver.

In the women's events, Jevy Agudo added silver in the longboard. Daisy Valdez also snatched back-to-back bronze medals in the longboard and shortboard.

John Mark Tokong claimed bronze in the men's shortboard to cap surfing's total haul to seven medals.
