James Palicte triumphs as Pinoy boxers haul 4 golds

Filipino bets are on a roll on the final day of boxing matches at the Southeast Asian Games as James Palicte bagged another gold medal on Monday.

Palicte won via unanimous decision against Nguyen Van Hai of Vietnam in the men's light welterweight division to capture boxing's fourth gold medal.

Earlier, Carlo Paalam, Rogen Ladon, and Josie Gabuco won gold medals in their respective weight classes.

In the men's welterweight finals, the judges sided on Thailand's Masuk Wuttichai, handing Pinoy boxer Marjon Piañar a silver medal.

Ian Clark Bautista also bagged a bronze medal in the men's bantamweight division after falling short against Thailand's Butdee Chatchai Decha in the semifinals.
