Calano, Bautista notch golds in javelin throw, hurdles

Melvin Calano and Clinton Kingsley Bautista clinched back to back gold medals in javelin throw and 110m hurdles at the Southeast Asian Games on Monday at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium.

Calano registered a distance of 72.86m in the javelin throw, beating Indonesia's Abd Hafiz who threw 71.00m. Hoai Van Nguyen recorded 70.88m to secure the bronze.

Bautista clocked in at 13.97 seconds in the hurdles, winning the gold by a hair against Malaysia's Sofian Rayzam Shah Wan. Anousone Xaysa of Laos took the bronze with a time of 13.99 seconds.
