Vietnam to host 31st SEA Games

The Philippines officially handed over the Southeast Asian Games Federation flag to the host of the 31st edition of the biennial meet, Vietnam, on Wednesday at the closing ceremonies at the New Clark City Athletics Stadium.

The Philippines was crowned as the overall champion of the SEA Games after hauling 387 medals behind a 149-117-121 gold-silver-bronze tally.

The 31st SEA Games, meanwhile, will be held in 2021 and is scheduled to take place in Hanoi.

Vietnam last hosted the regional sports meet in 2003 in Hanoi. It was also the first time in history Vietnam hosted the SEA Games and also the first time Timor-Leste participated in the meet.
