WWE's WrestleMania 36 to push through without crowd

Amid growing global concerns regarding the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) has decided to push through with its annual biggest event, WrestleMania, albeit to a much smaller scale this year.

In a statement released Tuesday morning (Philippine time), the company announced that the 36th iteration of WrestleMania will air from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, instead of the earlier slated 70,000-seater Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida. There will be no audience during the show.

"Only essential personnel will be on the closed set at WWE’s training facility in Orlando, Florida to produce WrestleMania," according to the company's statement.

Alongside the move to the Performance Center, WWE also announced the cancelation of other WrestleMania-related events, such as NXT TakeOver, the Hall of Fame ceremony, and the WWE Fan Axxess.

Despite the major changes, fans can still catch WrestleMania 36 live on WWE Network on the morning of April 6 (Philippine time).
