Israel Adesanya vs. Paulo Costa reportedly set for UFC 253

MANILA — The highly-awaited showdown between UFC middleweight world champion Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa is reportedly signed for UFC 253 for September 19, according to various reports.

The pair of unbeaten middleweights were anticipated to meet earlier this year, but an injury forced Costa to take the backseat as he conceded his title shot to hard-hitting veteran Yoel Romero in the main event of UFC 248.

“The fight is on folks!” Costa (13-0) wrote on Twitter.

The upcoming fight will mark Adesanya’s second defense of the UFC middleweight world title that he won against Robert Whittaker at UFC 243 in October 2019.
