UFC eyes rematch between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz

The UFC is looking to make a second fight between fan favorites Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, according to UFC president Dana White.

Masvidal and Diaz shared the cage in the main event of UFC 244 last November at Madison Square Garden in New York, where Masvidal won via third-round technical knockout to claim the “BMF” belt.

“It’s being worked on, that fight is on the works,” White revealed in the post-fight press conference of Dana White’s Contender Series 31.

“He (Masvidal) wants to defend it against Diaz, they were the first two to fight for it, they were the guys that fought for it. He wants to put it up versus Nate again.”

Masvidal dominated the first fight but it ultimately had an anticlimactic ending after the ringside physician had to stop the contest due to a cut Diaz suffered from strikes.

The BMF belt which stands for “Baddest Motherfu***r” was a special strap the UFC made for Masvidal versus Diaz.

Diaz’s last appearance inside the cage was at UFC 244 while Masvidal vied for the UFC welterweight world title against Kamaru Usman at UFC 251 last July where he lost by way of unanimous decision. – JM Siasat/RC, GMA News
