Paulo Costa calls Israel Adesanya 'human trash' following his defeat at UFC 253

Paulo Costa finally broke his silence following his crushing defeat at the hands of UFC middleweight world champion Israel Adesanya this past weekend in the main event of UFC 253 at Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.

Costa, 29, barely landed significant strikes throughout the contest as he was dominated from start to finish by Adesanya en route to a second-round technical knockout.

After the stoppage, Adesanya pretended he was riding the Brazilian before he went to celebrate his victory.

Costa was not aware of what Adesanya did until he watched the replay, and so he took to social media to express his frustrations over what the champion did.

“I came here to talk about the action that human trash did after the fight. I didn't see when I was there in the cage but I saw now,” said Costa in a video he posted on Instagram.

“I disapprove a hundred percent. To me this is [personal] now, nobody will stop me. Nobody can stop me.”

The TKO loss marked the first time that Costa has tasted defeat in his professional mixed martial arts career. Seemingly still upset about losing, Costa demanded Adesanya for a rematch citing that “something” happened before the fight.

“I want my rematch and you know I'm waiting for you,” he quipped.

“Something happened before the fight. I'm not [giving an] excuse here to my people, my fans, but I will be a hundred percent to fight him and to make him pay. That's my words. Save my words.”

Shortly after his loss, Costa took to Instagram and promised to "come back stronger."
