James delos Santos bags 12th gold in e-karate tournament, nears no. 1 spot

James delos Santos bagged his 12th gold at the Venice Cup 2020 #2, making him closer to reaching the no. 1 spot in the e-kata world rankings.

The Pinoy karateka competed in the Individual Male Seniors division where he defeated Luxembourg in the quarterfinals and Slovenia in the final round.

"I’m not far from the no. 1 spot. Just a little more!" James wrote on his Facebook page, Wednesday.

In August, James won his third gold medal in the Balkan Open E-Tournament, his third victory in virtual kata tournaments.

James is currently ranked no. 2 in the world virtual kata male seniors division, just behind Portugal's Eduardo Garcia. — Kaela Malig/LA, GMA News
