Antonio Caruso: ‘Folayang has never fought anyone like me’

Eduard Folayang may have seen and done it all in mixed martial arts, but multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion Antonio Caruso is convinced that the Filipino has never fought anyone like him.

The former ONE lightweight world champion from Baguio City is slated to lock horns with Caruso on the undercard of ONE: Inside the Matrix on October 30 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

“What I bring to the table that Eduard Folayang has not seen before is me. He has never fought me, he has never faced me,” Caruso told GMA News Online in virtual press con on Friday.

“He has never fought a person like me before. Yes, he’s seen boxers, kickboxers, wrestlers, jiu-jitsu, but he has never fought me, Antonio the Spartan.”

The 5’11 Caruso, who holds an MMA record of 7-1, will enjoy height and reach advantage on fight night and is also 7 years younger than Folayang.

Capable of going the distance, ending the fight via stoppage or submission, Caruso says that Folayang would have to deal with his full arsenal on the evening of October 30.

“That’s exactly what I’m gonna bring to the ring come October 30th is myself and he’s going to have to deal with me. Just like I have to do with him, he has to do with me.” – RC, GMA News
