Israel Adesanya opens as a betting favorite against UFC light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz

Reigning UFC middleweight world champion Israel Adesanya will be taking a huge risk when he moves up in weight to challenge Jan Blachowicz for the UFC light heavyweight world title.

Despite the 20-pound jump in weight, sportsbetting.com had opened Adesanya as a betting favorite at -250 while Blachowicz sits at +210.

UFC president Dana White has recently announced that Adesanya is headed to a showdown with Blachowicz in a yet to be determined date and venue.

Adesanya, 31, last saw action inside the cage against the previously unbeaten Paulo Costa at UFC 253 where he won via second-round technical knockout.

Blachowicz, on the other hand, captured the UFC light heavyweight world title in his last fight when he locked horns with Dominick Reyes and won via second-round technical knockout. — LA, GMA News
