Demetrious Johnson battles Adriano Moraes for ONE flyweight title in February

Former UFC flyweight world champion and ONE flyweight world grand prix winner Demetrious Johnson will finally get a crack at the ONE flyweight world title currently held by Adriano Moraes on February 24 in a yet to be determined venue.

The 34-year-old Johnson has beaten all of his three opponents since he debuted in the Asian promotion last year. In his latest outing, the man touted by some as the greatest ever defeated Team Lakay’s Danny Kingad via unanimous decision.

Moraes, meanwhile, has been off the cage for more than a year. He last fought in January 2019, when he beat former ONE flyweight world champion Geje Eustaquio by a controversial unanimous decision at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The upcoming showdown between Johnson and Moraes was scheduled for earlier this year but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. — BM, GMA News
