Raphael Trinidad becomes first Filipino to reach world no. 2 in cable wakeboarding


Raphael Trinidad has become the first Filipino to reach no. 2 in the cable wakeboarding rankings by the International Waterski and Wakeboard Federation.

The Cebuano wakeboarder, who bagged the silver medal in the IWWF World Cable Wakeboard Championships last year, is just behind gold medalist Lior Sofer of Israel.

Max Milde (Germany), Marko Gacic (Croatia), Riccardo de Tollis (Italy), and Ziv Zavaro (Israel) complete the top five.

Trinidad had a good year of competitions in 2020, claiming two first place and two second place finishes in the IWWF online competition series.

The 19-year-old wakeboarder also won a silver medal in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
