Conor McGregor predicts 60-second knockout win over Dustin Poirier

Former UFC lightweight and featherweight world champion Conor McGregor is predicting a quick finish when he takes on former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier in a rematch.

The pair of hard-hitting mixed martial artists are set to collide in the main event of UFC 257 on January 23 at the Etihad Arena in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi.

“I like Dustin. I think he’s a good fighter, he’s even a great fighter. But great is still levels below me. I’ll knock Dustin out inside 60 seconds,” McGregor predicted in the UFC 257 Countdown.

Poirier and McGregor previously met inside the octagon at UFC 178 in 2014 where McGregor emerged victorious via first-round technical knockout.

Poirier has bounced back since that fateful night having defeated the likes of Eddie Alvarez, Anthony Pettis, Justin Gaethje, and Max Holloway.

A totally different fighter since their first encounter, Poirier vowed that he is ready to do whatever it takes to avenge his loss against McGregor.

“January 23rd I'm going to get my hand raised by any means necessary,” Poirier vowed. -- BAP, GMA News
