Former WWE star Gabbi Tuft comes out as transgender

Former WWE star Gabbi Tuft, who became popular under her ring name "Tyler Reks," has come out as transgender.

On Instagram, the wrestler formerly known as Gabe Tuft wrote several emotional posts about her decision to transition.

"This is me. Unashamed, unabashedly me. This is the side of me that has hidden in the shadows, afraid and fearful of what the world would think; afraid of what my family, friends, and followers would say or do," she said.

"I am no longer afraid and I am no longer fearful. I can now say with confidence, that I love myself for who I am," she added, posting a photo of her posing in front a picture of her old self.

She also thanked her wife, her family, and her friends for accepting her for who she is.

In another post, she shared her joy for all the support she received after coming out as transgender.

"As I fully embraced my authentic self, neighbors went out of their way to ring my doorbell and drop off cards, flowers, and give hugs and support," she said. "I was showered with an unimaginable amount of love and encouragement every time I picked up my phone."

Gabbi also posted a coming out video she recorded in December, sharing more details on her journey.

She admitted having second thoughts about sharing the video due to the many physical changes she has undergone since then, but the desire to share her story won in the end.

"Transparency, truth, and ultimate honesty are what I pledge to you. It is my hope that through these aspects of my story, those that feel alone, those that are seeking understanding, and those that are desperately desiring support will find it," she said.
