Alex Eala advances to W25 Grenoble quarters
Tennis ace Alex Eala pulled off a victory against Spanish Cristina Bucsa in the second round of the W25 Grenoble tournament on Thursday.
Eala made a comeback after losing in the first set against Bucsa, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(8).
With the win, Eala will advance to the quarterfinals and play against the winner of the match between Poland’s Maja Chwalinska and France’s Gaelle Desperrier.
On Wednesday, Eala defeated Romania’s Laura-Ioana Paar in three sets.
Eala won her first professional title in the first leg of the W15 Manacor tournament, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the tourney’s next two legs.
Last year, the 15-year old ace won the Australian Open Juniors doubles titles and made a semis stint in the French Open Juniors.
Eala is now third in ranking in the ITF Juniors and no. 903 in the WTA. – RC, GMA News
