Alex Eala ends quarterfinals stint in W25 Grenoble

Filipina tennister Alex Eala fell short against Poland's Maja Chwalinska in the quarterfinals of the W25 Grenoble tournament on Friday.

Chwalinska pulled off a straight sets victory against Eala, 6-0, 6-4.

Prior to the quarters, Eala defeated Spanish foe Cristina Bucsa in the second round.

This was Eala's fourth straight quarters appearance in her four recent tournaments. The 15-year old ace won her maiden professional title in the first leg of the W15 Manacor tournament, and advanced to the quarterfinals in the next two legs.

Last year, the 15-year old ace won the Australian Open Juniors doubles titles and made a semis stint in the French Open Juniors.

Eala is now third in ranking in the ITF Juniors and no. 903 in the WTA. -- BAP, GMA News
