Francis Ngannou knocks out Stipe Miocic to claim UFC heavyweight title

Francis Ngannou is the new UFC heavyweight world champion following a second-round knockout win in his rematch with Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 260 on Sunday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, USA.

Ngannou looked patient in the opening minute suggesting that he learned from his mistake in the first fight.

A huge right hand from Ngannou landed clean on top but Miocic took the punch and did not flinch at all. 

Miocic shot for a takedown, but the challenger was able to stop it then take the back.

All it took was a perfectly timed left hook from Ngannou to end the night for Miocic as the latter went crashing to the mat at the 0:52 mark of round two.

It was Ngannou’s fifth straight win via knockout, improving his record to 16-3 while the former champion fell to 20-4. —KG, GMA News
