Brandon Vera fades again, gets stopped in 2 by Arjan Bhullar
It was a nightmare revisited for Brandon Vera following a second-round technical knockout loss at the hands of Arjan Bhullar in the main event of ONE: Dangal this Saturday evening at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Bhullar pushed the pace from the get-go throwing jabs while Vera patiently waited for an opening, throwing jabs and leg kicks here and there. The Indian scored a takedown three minutes into the fight but did nothing on the mat.
A hard right hand stunned Vera in round two. Just like his last fight, Vera started to fade in the second stanza. Bhullar took advantage of his weakness by going for a takedown then from there unleashed multiple unanswered punches to the head that forced the referee to halt the fight.
It was Vera’s second straight defeat via second-round TKO, dropping his record to 16-9 while the former UFC fighter and newly crowned ONE heavyweight world champion Bhullar improved his to 11-1. – RC, GMA News
