MPL Season 7 crown, vindication for V33Wise duo

Third time's the charm for Jhonmar "OhMyV33nus" Villaluna and Danerie "Wise" Rosario, popularly known as the "v33WIse duo" as they finally got over the hump after being on the losing end of the grand finals in Seasons 4 and 5 of the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines.

Back in Season 4, the V33Wise duo almost had their first championship when they went up 2-1 against Sunsparks, now playing under Aura PH, and was on the verge of a final base turret push when Christian "Rafflesia" Fajura executed a clutch arrival and Tyrant's Revenge combo that extended the match into a Game 5 by way of a minion push, that went viral as the "winions".

Not even another setback in the Season 5 grand finals can falter the Queen's, OhMyV33nus's social media tag, determination in crawling back for the championship crown.

"All this time naniniwala ako na kaya ko mag-champion. Even yung fall down namin nung Season 6, alam ko sa sarili ko na hindi ako yung mali. Hindi ako yung problema which is yun ang napatunayan ko ngayong Season 7," said OhMyV33nus.

They finally found their home with Blacklist International in the off-season in a major roster revamp that turned the former mid-tier team into a contender. For Wise, being on this new team was a huge uplift from his tumultuous Season 6 campaign.

"Nadown talaga ako sa MPL Season 6 na alam ko na sobrang hindi ko oras ang Season 6," he said.

Despite all the doubters and social media bashers, Wise stayed resilient and proved them wrong with this Season 7 conquest all thanks to a new family he found at Blacklist.

"Naniwala kasi mga kakampi ko sakin eh. Yung mga kakampi ko ngayon parang mga kapatid ko talaga, close kami. Kaya naniwala ako sa sarili ko na kaya ko at pinakita nila na may tiwala sila sa akin," Wise added.

With the MSC 2021 just around the corner, the duo will again take the spotlight as they battle it out against all powerhouses across the Southeast Asian region.
