Alex Eala cruises into singles finals in Milan tiff

Alex Eala has made it to the finals anew, this time in the singles draw.

The Filipina tennis star edged Mirra Andreeva of Russia, 7-5, 6-2, in their semifinals clash in the JA Trofeo Bonfiglio tournament in Italy on Saturday afternoon (Manila time).

The lopsided victory catapulted the 16-year-old netter to the finals and will meet the winner of the match between Nikola Bartunkova of Czech Republic and Clerie Ngounoue of USA.

Eala will also play in the doubles finals where she will team up with American Madison Sieg against the tandem of Lucija Ciric Bagaric and Sofia Costoulas.

Last month, Eala snared the doubles title in the French Open but bowed out of contention in the second round in both singles and doubles of her Wimbledon debut earlier this month.
