2020 Tokyo Olympics
Remedy Rule falls short in women's 100m butterfly
Remedy Rule fell short of clinching a berth in the semifinals round of the women's 100m butterfly of the Tokyo Olympics Saturday at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.
The Filipino tanker clocked 59.68 seconds in Heat 2 to finish second in the heat but she placed 25th after all the heats to officially bow out of contention. Only the top 16 athletes will progress to the semifinals.
Her Olympic campaign, though, is not yet finished as Rule is also set to join the 200m butterfly event on Tuesday.
Rule bagged two silver and bronze medals during the country’s hosting of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. She, along with fellow swimmer Luke Gebbie, were the last two punch tickets to the Olympics.
