Hidilyn Diaz to pay virtual courtesy call with Duterte

Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz is set to pay a courtesy call with President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday evening.

According to a report by Super Radyo DZBB's Tuesday Niu, Sen. Bong Go, Duterte's former aide, confirmed the development.

However, the courtesy call will be conducted via teleconferencing only. Diaz still needs to undergo quarantine as mandated by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.

During the call, Duterte is expected to give his congratulatory message to Diaz, who won the Philippines' first Olympic gold medal.

Diaz arrived on Wednesday afternoon, along with skateboarder Margielyn Didal.
