Juvic Pagunsan shoots 2-over, drops to T-25th as 2nd round of Olympic golf suspended due to weather
Filipino golf bet Juvic Pagunsan shot a 2-over par 73 in Round 2 of the men's individual stroke play event in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics before weather conditions forced a suspension of play for the remainder of the day.
Sitting in a strong fifth place after scoring 5-under par in the first round, Pagunsan bogeyed four times in Round 2 as he dropped 20 places down into a tie for 25th, as of the suspension.
He is still three strokes under par after completing two rounds of play.
Several golfers were unable to finish their round, however, as play was suspended at 5:20 p.m. local time (4:20 p.m Manila). It was later announced that second round play would resume at 7:45 a.m. (6:45 a.m. Manila) the following day.
As of the suspension, American Xander Schauffele sat on the top of the leaderboard after jumping up 11 places thanks to an 8-under par 63 in his second round. He is currently 11-under par after 36 holes, leading Mexico's Carlos Ortiz at -10.
Round 1 leader Sepp Straka of Austria is tied in third with a -8 after completing his second round, though they could all still move up or down, depending on the results of tomorrow's resumption of play.
