Pacio vs. Saruta trilogy set for ONE: Revolution
Reigning ONE strawweight world champion Joshua Pacio of Baguio City’s Team Lakay is slated to make the third defense of his world title in a rubber match against Yosuke Saruta at ONE: Revolution on September 24 in a yet to be determined venue.
The pair first met inside the cage in 2019 where the Japanese snatched the title via split decision.
A rematch took place just three months later and Pacio was able to regain the gold-plated strap by way of fourth-round knockout.
Pacio, 25, made two successful defenses of his title since that night and has not fought since he defeated former ONE strawweight world titleholder Alex Silva in January 2020.
Saruta, meanwhile, last fought in September when he beat ex-champ Yoshitaka Naito by unanimous decision. -- BAP, GMA News
