Onic remains perfect, hands NXP third straight loss

Onic Philippines sustained their lethal form with another sweep, this time at the expense of Nexplay EVOS, 2-0, to remain undefeated after three matches and remain atop the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 8 standings on Friday.

The two-time MPL runners-up opened the series with a methodic Game 1 win in a 12-minute demolition of NXP EVOS that saw Kairi “Kairi” Ygnacio Rayosdelsol (Ling) with a flawless performance courtesy of a 3-0-5 KDA.

He outplayed John Paul “H2wo” Salonga's (1-4-1 KDA) Hayabusa, whom he killed three times by the 7th minute to bury NXP to set the tone for the rest of the match.

By the 8th minute, Onic was already lording over the opposing jungle and then swept all NXP outer turrets by the 10th minute. Onic then marched with the Lord in the 11th minute to pull ahead in dominant fashion.

Celebrating the return of Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcarse (Kagura) who missed the team's first two matches, NXP EVOS looked poised for a rubber match as they kept toe-to-toe against Onic in the early goings of Game 2.

A 4th minute 2-1 exchange in the gold lane then led to a turtle take that helped NXP take a slim gold lead. They slowly snowballed from there taking objectives one after another and took down all Onic outer turrets by the 11th minute.

But a 12th minute miscalculated aggression in the bottom lane led to a 3-1 exchange for Onic, including a shutting down of H2wo (Lancelot) who was on a 5-0-2 KDA tear before he was shutdown.

Onic then leaned on split pushes during team fights to confuse their rivals and take the luminous lord in the 16th minute then another similar strategy in the 21th minute to complete the shutout win.
