NXPE beats RSG for second straight win in MPL PH S8

Nexplay Evos finally scored back-to-back wins this season after a series of losses as they swept RSG Philippines, 2-0, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 8 elimination round on Friday.

They now have 6 points to leapfrog their victims (4pts) in the standings. It was a dynamic recovery for NXPE who suffered from three straight losses to open Season 8.

In Game 1, NXPE leaned on the early game exploits of Tristan "Yawi" Cabrera (Chou) who executed well-timed and well-positioned Way of the Dragon set-ups to help the fan-favorites establish a 2k gold lead by the 3rd minute.

But RSG held on and managed to pull off a 3-1 wipe in a 10th-minute defensive stand to equalize in the gold despite being down by three outer turrets.

It was a stand-still from there until James "Jeymz" Gloria (X.Borg) unleashed his Last Insanity skill in the middle of a 27th minute clash to steal the luminous lord away from RSG. NXPE then completed the clash with a 2-1 exchange to secure the Game 1 win.

The Dogie-led squad then had to dig deep in Game 2 to complete a come from behind victory against RSG which saw them fall behind by as much as 13k on the gold tally and a 3-9 kill deficit up until the 16th minute.

They weathered an RSG storm that left Jhon Paul "H2wo" Salonga (Ling) with no purple buff for majority of the match until he was able to secure it in the 21st minute to spearhead their comeback victory.
