Lito Adiwang defeats Hexigetu at ONE: Revolution
Lito Adiwang of Baguio City’s Team Lakay has added another win to his name following a unanimous decision nod over China’s Hexigetu on the undercard of ONE: Revolution this Friday evening at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Hexigetu fought on the outside and looked wary to close the distance in the early going. The moment he came in, Adiwang launched a flying knee that landed and caught his attention. The Filipino threw kicks to the body, prompting his foe to circle the cage even more.
The Chinese refused to engage in round two which resulted in a yellow card warning from the referee. Adiwang, meanwhile, kept stalking his prey. When Hexigetu finally started fighting, he landed two low blows that resulted in a yellow card.
Another groin strike was all Hexigetu can give in the opening seconds of round three which resulted in another yellow card and a 20% deduction from his purse. Adiwang recovered for the third time then launched a flying kick at the Chinese.
Adiwang continued to press forward, throwing kicks and landed counter shots whenever Hexigetu tried to attack. Adiwang moved forward the final bell as the Chinese seemingly fought to survive Adiwang’s onslaught all night.
All three judges saw the fight for Adiwang, improving his professional mixed martial arts record to 13-3 while Hexigetu fell to 9-4.
