MPL imposes fine, suspension on Blacklist's OHEB for prohibited pose in livestream
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL-PH) handed out a fine and suspension on Blacklist International's Kiel "OHEB" Soriano for doing a prohibited pose at the end of the game's livestream on Saturday.
After winning against Omega Esports, OHEB was seen flashing the middle finger, despite being restrained by some of his teammates.
In an announcement early Sunday morning, MPL Philippines imposed a two-game suspension and a $500 fine on OHEB following his actions.
"MPL-PH Operating Committee does not tolerate any form of abusive behavior in the league and we expect our professional players to follow a strict code of conduct. Let's work together to build a more mature and professional league," the league said in a statement.
Prior to MPL-PH's decision, Blacklist International also apologized for OHEB's actions.
"The management has already talked to him in private about the matter and will issue a fine that will be deducted from his salary for his actions," the team said.
OHEB, in a post-match interview, also made an apology.
"Humihingi ulit ako ng paumanhin at patawad sa nagawa ko ngayong araw. Promise di na mauulit 'yun," OHEB said.
(Again, I ask for forgiveness and apologies for what I did today. I promise it will not happen again.)
Blacklist International on Saturday secured the top spot in the playoffs of MPL-PH Season 8.
