Wish granted as Onic PH-BTK upper bracket finals showdown now set in stone

SINGAPORE — After sweeping Indonesia's RRQ Hoshi in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M3 World Championship upper bracket semifinals on Wednesday, Onic Philippines said they want to face BloodThirstyKings (BTK) of North America as their next opponent.

Now, it has turned into a reality.

BTK, now being pegged as the dark horse of the tournament, pulled off a 3-1 victory over EVOS SG to advance to the upper bracket finals, where it will face the Philippine bet.

Perfect scenario for Onic PH, whose captain Allen Jedric "Baloyskie" Baloy expressed the team's desire to defeat BTK and avenge Blacklist International's loss earlier in the tournament.

"I want to face BTK so we can avenge our fellow countrymen," Baloyskie said. "And for them to have a chance to face again BTK and hopefully, they win that time."

BTK engineered an upset against the MPL Philippines Season 8 champions and sent Blacklist crashing down to the lower bracket. If Onic PH triumphs against BTK, there is a possibility that the American team can face Blacklist again in the lower bracket finals.

The highly-anticipated match between Onic PH and BTK will be on Saturday, December 18, at 2 p.m. with the winner advancing to the M3 grand finals and moving a win away from the coveted world title.
